In this ongoing singing club, learners will build healthy singing habits in a fun and engaging way! Each lesson will begin with a vocal warm-up. We will practice breathing exercises, vocal slides, solfège scales and silly tongue twisters. Once our voices are warmed up, we will practice a pre-selected song together as a group. For the song portion of class, I will either demonstrate the song first or we will watch a lyric video together so learners can familiarize with the tune, then we will break it down and go over the melody and lyrics line by line together, accompanied by an instrument or a cappella. We will first focus on one verse and chorus and move onto verse two if learners are ready and time allows. I will provide links to the songs and lyrics in advance. Throughout the weeks we will cover basic vocal technique and fundamentals such as proper breath support, head and chest registers, intonation and expressive singing. For more personalized and advanced instruction, 1:1 lessons are recommended. Please note, certain segments of the class will be muted to ensure learners can hear themselves and the demonstrations clearly. There will also be opportunities for learners to sing the exercises and portions of the song solo throughout the class!
