In this one time Silly Splat Monsters class, students will experiment with watercolors using the watercolor techniques: wax resist, wet on wet, blowing, and splatter, to create a monster design. There will be a demonstration of each step, some tips for adding into or changing it into a puppet after it dries, and a character design sheet where learners can further develop their monster characters with names, favorites, character traits and so on. 6"x9" Watercolor paper watercolors crayons paint brush paper towels (for drying brush, area, and maybe for blotting monster painting) water cup for brush straw (for blowing paint)
Silly Splat Monsters can be a messy project. Please have an area where your students can make a little mess and either wear an artist smock or something you do not mind a little paint splashing on.
