While the speeches we study may be inspired by events that are distressing or intense, it is important to note that they were crafted to be delivered to diverse audiences, including young children. Therefore, the content of the speeches does not contain graphic, violent, or mature imagery. However, as each student's sensitivity may vary, parents are encouraged to preview the speeches before enrolling in this class if they have concerns about the content. The schedule of speeches will be provided several weeks or months in advance, allowing ample time for parents to review and make informed decisions.

It is important to acknowledge that the study of world history involves sensitive topics such as war, slavery, racism, religion, and genocide. When discussing these topics, religion will only be addressed within a historical context. Multiple perspectives will be introduced through the use of primary sources, peer-reviewed materials, and scholarly sources. Learners will be encouraged to engage in critical and reflective thinking regarding the historical background and context in which each speech was delivered. Discussions will be moderated, fostered, and closely monitored by the teacher, ensuring an unbiased and secular approach.

Furthermore, when relevant, the viewpoints of marginalized groups will be explored, promoting inclusivity and a deeper understanding of diverse experiences throughout history. I am dedicated to presenting the content in an age-appropriate manner, ensuring that it is suitable for high school learners. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me via messaging.
All content for this class is found in the public domain and will be posted in the classroom the weekend before each class. Content is not required to be accessed before class time to accommodate students who may register the same day as the class.
