What will be taught? Students will learn details of what the Scientific Method is and how it came to be used as the standard for science experimentation. This short session will also address all of the required steps of the scientific method and the required procedure for a science fair. They will be required to prepare and present a science fair project. How will I teach? I will present material that the students will be asked to verify their comprehension with oral and written reviews. Students will be allowed to not only initiate conversations with the teacher, but collaborate with their peers. Required experience of background knowledge? Completion of the Class Mini or Single Session class is required before enrolling in this short course. They should have completed the "Potential Science Fair" project worksheet. Late enrollments: Make-up classes will be arranged. Students will be required to complete all 5 weeks of the course requirements. The outline below describes the goals for each week: Week 1: Topic and research/review the literature Week 2: Question and hypothesis Week 3: Test your hypothesis Week 4: Prepare and explain the results.
