In this one time class, students will make homemade ice cream in a bag using no fancy appliances. We will begin class with a short introduction of all learners, review recipe, ingredients, and materials, then we will dive into the recipe! I will be actively demonstrating and instructing during the whole class. I will be constantly checking on your learners' progress to ensure their success! During the making of the ice cream we will show off our best dance moves and shake our sillies away...
Students will learn how to measure wet and dry ingredients, how to take turns talking, and how to make their favorite ice cream!
Ice Cream in a Bag + Favorite Mix Ins! 1 quart sized zip top bag 1/2 cup milk (either 2% or whole, no skim please) 1/2 cup heavy cream 2 tablespoons sugar 6 tablespoons kosher or rock salt Any flavoring(s) of your choice: Such as chocolate syrup, sprinkles, chopped strawberries, brownie pieces, or crushed cookies (optional) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 gallon-sized zip top bag filled half way with ice/crushed ice 1 empty gallon-sized zip top bag (**can also sub 1 Cup of Half & Half instead of the separate milk and cream!) 1 drinking glass or large liquid measuring cup 1 tablespoon measuring spoon 1 liquid measuring cup During this process sometimes the bags will leak, you may want to cover surfaces with newspaper or have towels at the ready! Optional**winter gloves, towel, or pot holders to protect hands from cold
