Does your child want to learn how to sew? Sewing handmade cards is a great way to start learning different stitching patterns. Since this is a small pattern it is easy to handle and when they are finished they can have a nice card to gift. Each week your child will learn how to sew and make a new greeting card. Students will learn the basics of sewing patterns and be able to construct a card from start to finish.
Students will need - Paper (to print the design template) - Cardstock or paper (to "punch" the design into) - additional cardstock or paper to create the greeting card (*if you don't wish to create a card then you do not need this) - tape - Sewing needle Things I find helpful: ~ Cork (to hold the needle to punch the holes in the paper so that it can be sewn) ~ Foam piece (to put behind the paper for protection ~ Clipboard (to hold the paper and the foam in place)
There is a safety precaution to this class since we will be using a sewing needle. I will go over the safety procedures at the start of each video but please make sure your child understands the safety of using a sewing needle and not leaving it laying around.
