Students will learn the parts and uses of a basic sewing machine. How to thread it and make a bobbin. They will be able to complete a small project on their own. There will be materials that I will go over with them in class. I will lead a discussion on different sewing projects. Students will be able to ask questions and interact with me and each other. I was a designer and decorator in NY, CA, Germany, and more. I have taught sewing to all ages for decades:) It's a wonderful skill that enables cottage businesses, gifts, creativity, and repairs.

Students will be unable to make a project without a sewing machine but will come away knowing how the machine works. Thread, scissors, material. A candle or soap is optional to 'wax' the tread which makes it easier to thread the needle and keeps it from tangling.
