Learners will embark on a wonderful journey though the world of children's literature. They may bring a reading buddy to class. Each class will feature a different book from a beloved author, such as Patricia Polacco, Mo Willems, and Tomie dePaola. Learners will improve their vocabulary by listening to a wide variety of books that will cover every topic, from animals to holidays. Learners will improve their reading comprehension skills such as making connections, exploring themes, and story sequencing. Learners will improve their fine motor and communication skills. Learners will use their imaginations to create realistic and imaginary creations. Learner will engage in a sensory literacy experience. Learners will improve their vocabulary by engaging with a wide variety of topics Learners will ask and answer questions about what they have read.
I have been a teacher since 2008 and engaging students in books is my passion! I read dramatically with fun voices to keeps learners' attention!
Anything they can use to build! Some suggestions are: building blocks, hashtag blocks, rocks, cups, magnetic blocks, tape, paper, objects found in nature. The possibilities are endless! Paper Pencil Crayons, Colored Pencils, or Markers Learners may bring a reading buddy such as a stuffed animal or a doll.
