I will listen as the student reads so that I can give immediate feedback and practice skills. Your child does not need to be in third grade to take this class as long as they are reading at a reading level of J-M and/or a Lexile score of 510-850. All of the stories we will be reading will fall within this range. Students reading slightly above or below these scores are welcome to join. Students reading at a slightly lower level will be healthily challenged to move forward whereas students reading at a slightly higher level will benefit from easier books to develop their fluency skills. We will begin each class with a skill review. The skills we review will be determined based on the previous class's struggles. Class Format: -Skill Review -Guided Reading -Sharing Our Wins Our stories will be short passages from Reading A-Z, and will be a mix of fiction and non-fiction. Upcoming Stories: -Week of June 24: A Real Lice Problem **No Class Week of July 1** -Week of July 8: A Record With Wings -Week of July 15: A Smelly Mystery -Week of July 22: A Special Beach -Week of July 29: A Translating Glove
