Combining Art and Science, students will develop their observation skills as scientists by honing in their art skills and learning more about each week's topic. Beginners are highly welcomed and encouraged! Want to learn more about details to pay attention to on a beautiful flower, an awesome animal, or a small insect? Develop your observation skills as we spend time drawing examples each week and discussing interesting facts about them.

The format will be discussion-based and step-by-step instructions. The teacher will ask students questions throughout the lecture to receive feedback on the understanding of content and ensure all voices are being included and heard. The discussion will be based on the information learned during the lecture and will allow students to brainstorm and think critically about their drawings and the details doing into them. 

In the materials section below, you can find everything that you will need for this class. The students will be honing and developing their skills by replicating example pictures they bring or use the ones provided each week. The class will be more enjoyable if students pick the example of their choosing!

First Class: All Things Big: Large animals, big fish, and tall trees! 
Second Class: It's A Small World: Tiny insects, microscopic organisms, and small and mighty animals
Third Class of January: Get Your Greens: Plants, flowers, and trees
Fourth Class: Under the Sea: Marine Animals and Fish
Fifth Class: Choose Your Own Adventure: Choose your favorite habitat and a plant or animal living in it
Sixth Class: In the Mighty Jungle! Prints, Patterns, and Predators 
Seventh Class: Dinosaurs of the Past and Present
