In this one-time class, students will have the opportunity to learn fun and interesting facts about llamas. Afterward, we will create our own llamas. I am a homeschooling mom of five kids, ranging in age from ten to nineteen. We are diving into our 6th year of homeschool and we love it. I have a passion for both education and creativity and I love combining the two whenever I can. When I'm not teaching (my kids or someone else's), I run a business based purely on creativity and art. Traveling (and 8 years of formal classes) gave me a handle on the Spanish language. I have a background in general education from 19 years of combined experience teaching in public and charter school settings, as well as tutoring one on one, ESL, and running various camps and activities. My experience ranges from childcare (infant) age all the way through high school age and includes work with neurodiverse and special needs students, as well as students with mental health issues. I have a passion for, and educational background in Graphic Art/Design, however, my degrees are AA in Liberal Studies and a BA in General Studies with a concentration in Psychology. I am also TESOL certified.
- Paper plate - scissors - construction paper - markers - pom poms (various colors and sizes would be great - but not too big as we are using them to decorate our llamas) - school glue (liquid) or craft glue (Sticky Tac works well) - empty toilet paper roll -YOUR IMAGINATION
This is an art and crafts-based class. Students will be using scissors, glue, etc...There is an inherent risk of incidents (i.e. minor injury, mess...) when doing crafts. Please make sure that your child has the physical space to be creative and not destructive; as well as the supervision necessary for them to be safe. I do not require that an adult be in the room for this class, but if you believe your child will need supervision or assistance I would ask that you make yourself readily available. As always, you know your child best.
