SAT Prep (2023 종이 버전)

This 8-week course will present students with tips and techniques for taking the SAT.  (NOTE: The Summer session is a 5-week course with the same material.) Students will strengthen their critical thinking & reasoning skills, improve their vocabularies, and practice math strategies.  Online quizzes, practice tests, and lessons combine with student led discussion forums and weekly assignments which are reviewed and assessed by the teacher.  

This course is intended for students who are motivated to learn specific test taking skills and techniques.  To get the most out of the math section, students should be enrolled in (or have completed) geometry by the time they take this course.  This class will provide students with the tools to help them take the SAT successfully.  They should continue to use those tools to strengthen their skills even after the course ends.

Online learners will engage in interactive online lessons and weekly assessments or assignments.  In addition, students will interact with other students and the teacher via weekly discussion forums and activities.  Each week, students will submit their homework to the teacher who will then review and comment and give suggestions for improvement.  Students have one week to complete the weekly lesson activities.  This class runs “asynchronously” (participants to do not need to be online at a specific time each week); however it is not self-paced. Assignments are due every Sunday night.

Note: This course is not taught on the Outschool website.  Instead, it is taught asynchronously on the Woodside LC Moodle course page.  Students will need an email address to register and login to the Moodle course. If parents prefer to avoid using personal email addresses, please let me know.
