During this 8 week class, students meet once a week and learn from one of the best.  Manny Langstraat has been a patrol officer for over 15 years and has driven hundreds of thousands of miles safely while responding to many collisions: teaser alert there is no such thing as an accident!  After patrolling the roads, helping people and being a father, he also happens to be an amateur race car driver who fixes his own cars.  This class will go over basic driving discussion and fundamental education on safe driving.  We will also go over basic vehicle maintenance, what to do in a collision and what to do after.  There will be plenty of live discussion and easy homework. If your child is already driving, needs a refresher or is preparing to drive, this class will be helpful in teaching them to be a safe driver.

Week 1: Introduction/Why is safe driving important – Please be prepared to provide picture of cars if you have one already.
Week 2: Preparing the vehicle for a trip (tires, oil, gas, required documents and mirrors)
Week 3: Distracted and Impaired Driving Discussion
Week 4:  Basic vehicle maintenance
Week 5: Driving in the city vs Rural Driving
Week 6: What happens during and after a collision
Week 7: Anticipating Danger
Week 8: Ways to never meet a cop and final discussion
