In this one-time class, learners will be able to find the main idea and key details based on the story "Chrysanthemum" written by Kevin Henkes. The story is about a pretty little mouse. There is something special about this mouse. It really believes its name is perfect. But not everyone thinks this mouse's name is wonderful. How can it convince everyone that their name is completely normal? What should it do? The topics that will be covered in class are the main idea and key details...
Learners will be able to retell stories including key details to demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson. Learners will be able to state how readers use the main idea and key details to find important parts in a story.
