In this 10 week long flex reading comprehension and skills class, I will focus on reading comprehension, fluency, and reading comprehension skills. This course will teach them about reading to understand material and comprehend what they are reading. I will teach your student a reading strategy "RUTHIE" that will help them with comprehension, summarizing, understanding main idea, and how to answer reading comprehension questions from a passage. I will cover comprehension skills such as- comparing and contrasting, sequencing, main idea/theme and supporting details, vocabulary, character traits, summarizing, utilizing charts and much more! 

What to expect:

Each week I will post two instructional videos on the weekly topic. The first will be an introduction and the second will be a bit faster. I will post one optional assignment each week for the student to apply what they have learned on the skill. The instructional videos will be posted on Tuesday and Thursday with an assignment posted on Thursday. Every 2 weeks I will post an optional assessment instead of the regular assignment so your student can show what they have learned. Your student can submit classwork, assignments, and tests for feedback if they want.
