Students will independently read "Holes" by Louis Sachar and walk away from each class with a deep understanding of plot and character development and motivations while gaining a deeper understanding of the story. 

As an English Literature major, I am trained to handle all literature with an eye that goes beyond the surface. All stories must force us to use our empathy and critical thinking skills. This class will guide students through the story with a focus on empathy for situations and characters while challenging students to use their critical thinking skills.
