In this Ranger in Time book club, learners will dive into the first three books of the series, exploring key themes, characters, and historical events. Through weekly meetings, students will engage in interactive discussions, analyze plot and character development, and expand their vocabulary while learning about courage and problem-solving. With a student-centered approach, the class includes collaborative activities, guided discussions, and games to make reading and learning fun and engaging. * Unit 1: Ranger in Time: Rescue on the Oregon Trail * Unit 2: Danger in Ancient Rome * Unit 3: Long Road to Freedom Unit 1: Ranger in Time: Rescue on the Oregon Trail : Week of January 3rd, 2025: Chapters 1-5 — Setting the Trail: Meet Ranger and the Abbott Family Focus: Introduction to Ranger, the Oregon Trail, key characters, and early challenges. Week of January 10th, 2025: Chapters 6-10 — Surviving the Trail: Dangers and Decisions Focus: Examining the obstacles faced on the trail, teamwork, and Ranger's role in saving lives. * Week of January 17th, 2025: Chapters 11-15 — Reaching the Destination: Lessons from the Journey Focus: Wrapping up the Abbott family’s journey, character growth, and historical insights. Learners will need access to the books we are covering in the club, either through personal copies, libraries, or digital editions. No additional sources or accounts are required. Any supplementary materials, such as worksheets or activity pages, will be created by me and shared in the virtual classroom in compliance with Outschool’s content policy.
