In this class, students have the freedom to choose a research topic within Psychology, refine the idea with support from a teacher with academic research experience, and conduct, analyse, and write up the results of their project. Students will learn to: - Formulate a specific hypothesis from a research topic/question - Find and cite scientific sources - Consider ethical approaches to research with human participants - Use appropriate materials and experimental designs to test their hypothesis - Analyse data using Excel, Google Sheets, or Jamovi software - Construct a research report
I completed a PhD in Psychology, with a focus on Cognitive Neuroscience and Visual Perception, giving me a thorough knowledge of Research Methods, Analysis Techniques, and Ethics in Psychology. I also taught Research Methods classes and drop-in support sessions for independent projects at university level from 2014-2017. I have been working as a full time online tutor for GCSE (UK age 14-16 curriculum) and A-level (UK age 16-18 curriculum) since February 2018.

Optional but recommended: Jamovi software (free download) for week 5 analysis. Students may use other software equally as effectively, however, I will be giving examples and tutorials in Jamovi and it is intuitive to learn and visualise analysis methods.
