These are 30-minute, one-on-one voice lessons that meet once a week. The age range for this class is flexible. If you have an 8-year old who can work independently, is reading, and ready for regular practicing, then they are welcome to take this class. Lessons are tailored to the student.
In the first lesson, I will ask the student about their experience and goals for singing which will help determine how to structure their lessons. We will also go over some of the technical requirements for lessons. (See Supply List below)  
Students will learn about and work on their vocal range, ear training, breath support, stage presence, tone production, and placement. We will also spend time improving performance technique by strengthening the student's ability to express the message of the song and hone their acting skills. Students will learn songs from musical theater and other contemporary works. We'll work on the vocal and emotional expression as well as the theatrical context of the song. Lessons are tailored to each student's unique abilities, age, and level. Progression is individual. 
***Amanda offers an online live voice recital for all of her voice students twice per year. One in late Fall and one in late Spring. Families will be given information about how to participate as the time draws closer.
Students will be expected to spend time each week practicing what was learned in the lesson. Students should spend approximately 15-30 minutes per day at least 3 times per week practicing or working on vocal assignments. The amount of time and work spent outside of class will depend upon the student's age and vocal maturity, and individual goals. My priority as a voice teacher is to instill confidence, improve stage presence and performance and maintain the health of their voice.
