Throughout this course, students will develop their voices through the use of classical vocal technique. Students will learn the basic foundations of singing, including breath management, alignment, resonance, and diction. During the first lesson, students will answer basic questions and participate in a voice assessment in order to develop a customized plan for your study. After needs are assessed, the student will receive repertoire assignments. Some songs are not in the public domain and will require you to purchase the music. I will provide information on where to purchase the music.

Our weekly study will include technique study and repertoire study, based on the students' individual skill level, interests, and needs. Students will receive classical cross-over technique and may choose to focus their study on classical, musical theatre, worship, or song repertoire.

Students can expect to spend the first half of every lesson working on technique, musical skills, and warming up the voice. The second half of the lesson will be dedicated to repertoire study. Students will fully learn at least one song. We will discuss performance skills, expression, memorization, and drama as it pertains to the assigned repertoire.

Please note that my schedule is flexible for additional dates and bookings. I offer 30-minute lessons and also 50-minute lessons.

Private voice lessons are ideal for students ages 11-18. For children younger than 11, I recommend taking lessons in sight singing, music theory, music history, keyboard skills, and other instrument study. Feel free to message me for more information.
