Private lessons for violin or viola and fiddle for young musicians. Beginners welcome, as well as students with more experience. We will focus on playing technique, posture, ear training and listening, and building repertoire in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. Students will learn how to hold their instrument correctly, play using the bow and build repertoire and technique on their instrument.
Lifetime of playing the violin. Over 10 years of strings teaching experience to all ages and levels. Classroom experience in preschool, kindergarten, and elementary grades. Master's degree in education (pre-K - 6th) and current teacher licensure.
Violin or viola in good playing condition. Rosin for the bow. Shoulder rest or shoulder sponge.
For very young learners, having a parent nearby to listen to instructions and help out is ideal but not required.
