In this one-on-one private tutoring session, we will use it to best suit your child's needs. I may offer services to help your child learn to read, strengthen their reading skills, improve their reading comprehension, or offer extra guided reading practice. We will go through reading materials that are appropriate for your child's reading level and we will work on the struggles that they have. Please let me know your child's reading level before our first session and what you would like for me to focus on. I will use digital books that I will provide from various sources including Reading A to Z, Epic Books, and Education. com. You do not need to supply any materials. **Please contact me if there are no times available that fit your schedule** I have been teaching children to read for over 15 years so I have a lot of experience in helping children learn how to read and in building a good foundation in reading. I like to make my classes relaxed and fun so that I can connect with your child and create a teachable environment.

Hello Everyone! My name is Lena Pittman and I have been a teacher for over 14 years. I love to teach in a fun and exciting way by using music, games, and other props to get the children very involved. There are many subjects and ages that I have taught but my main focus has been teaching 5-year-olds how to read and to learn their math facts. I have been teaching ESL to all ages for over 2 years and I really enjoy teaching this subject, also. Creating new and exciting ways to help young learners to enjoy learning is something that I have a passion for.
I am a graduate of Howard University and I received a Bachelor of Science degree. I have raised 3 boys and homeschooled them for 5 years. They are all bigger than me now and love to play football!
