This is a 1:1 session to address fine motor, visual motor and/or handwriting concerns. The parent/guardian will be asked to explain concerns in these areas prior to the scheduled session. The private session will include activities to enhance skills in areas of concern as well as activities for followup to be done at home. I will begin the session by talking with the child and playing a short game to establish a positive rapport. We will then move into planned activities addressing concerns...
Goals will be to establish a plan to help the child in the areas of concern as well as present the family with activities to be done as carryover at home.
I am an occupational therapist with 10 years of pediatric experience in a school setting and clinic setting.
Students should come to each session with paper, crayons, pencil, and a child scissor. Other supplies will be discussed with the adult after discussion of areas of concern.
It is preferred that an adult be nearby the child during the session to assist in carryover of the skills during home exercises.
