Students should be able apply practical strategies to solve the math problems. This will sometimes include memorizing a few vocabulary terms or a shortcut list which helps them break down hard problems. They will learn to look at a new problem and apply what they know in order to solve it.
I am a certified math teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience in public, private, and homeschool settings, as well as one-on-one tutoring. I have a BS in Mathematics Education and a MS in Educational Technology and Online Learning. I have six years experience teaching math online.
