개인 - 초보 독자를 위한 독서 및 쓰기 맞춤 튜터링

This class is intended for Emergent Readers and Writer - those who know a few sight words, most of the consonant sounds, can write most/ all capital letters and WANT TO LEARN TO READ. As a first grade teacher for 25 years for both struggling and gifted students (and all students in-between), I will use my expertise to customize support for your child in advancing their literacy skills. 

I will assess your child's level to create a detailed plan for their growth and skill development. The parent will receive this plan as well as access to a set of materials to have ready as we continue working together. 

Instruction will be based on the needs of the child and the parent request

Reading Activities may include Guided Reading (Fiction and Non-Fiction Titles); Phonics and Phonemic Awareness, Sight Word Development; Vocabulary, Comprehension, and more. I use the website https://guidedreaders.com/ to access leveled reading books. I pay a subscription for this site and there is no additional charge to families to access. 
Your child will be able to use several different strategies to become a fluent reader.  

Writing Activities may include Interactive Journal, Patterned Innovative Writing; , Handwriting ( I prefer to teach D’Nealian and will teach Traditional Manuscript if that is important); If student is ready we may include a simple Writer’s Workshop.

Parents will get a detailed report after each session as well as access to materials to extend your child's skill development, there will be assignments to complete and return by the next session. 

I suggest that after our first week of 2 sessions , you commit to a month. As long as the student continues with me, I will continue to customize their instruction and support them in progressing to fluency in reading and writing.
