In this ongoing class, the student will learn the basics of editing with Premiere Pro and will be given assignments to put these skills into practice. The basics skills they will learn include: -Organizing files/file structure -Importing clips -Creating and importing clips to the timeline -How to trim and cut clips -The difference between source monitor vs. program monitor -Creating bins to organize clips -Adding music/sound effects and titles/text -Using the ripple edit tool -Changing a clip’s position and size (transforming the clip) and doing timed edits for both (zooming) -Speed adjustment of clips -How to reverse a clip -How to copy/paste effects -More about transitions -Stabilizing shots, and more! After learning the above, students will be given a chance to practice with clips I will provide and assignments as well. Sample Weekly breakdown (class will be tailored to students needs): Week 1: Learning the Basics (Part 1) Week 2: Learning the Basics (Part 2) Assignment: Editing a short music video with clips I provide Week 3: In class edit session of music video Week 4: Final edit session for music video The assignment for the remaining weeks will be chosen by the learner. No experience necessary. Beginner course open to all. A working version of Adobe Premiere Pro installed on your computer is required. Hi there! Teacher Tirath here! Nice to (virtually) meet you! :)
I am so excited to be on Outschool to teach creative courses! I have 4+ years of teaching both English and math to students of all ages, and have been teaching English online for almost three years. I also have experience leading arts camps as well as working with children on film sets. I am excited about this opportunity to be able to continue to open my classroom to students from all over the world!
In terms of my qualifications, I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film Production. My specializations were screenwriting, directing, editing and sound. I have made a few short films of my own which have been shown at film festivals, and I also have done lots of editing work in the past few years. Needless to say, creativity is my passion!
I also have a Bachelors of Science, and love teaching classes that blend both science and the arts!
My teaching style is friendly, patient, and full of positivity. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, so I like to keep my classes engaging and full of fun! Also a positive learning environment is a must in my book!
When I’m not teaching or doing film work, I like to read books, draw, listen to music, and spend some time in nature, whether that be hiking, walking, or biking! I am a total tree hugger!
