By the end of this lesson, students will:

1. Increase their knowledge and understanding of math concepts such as recognizing numbers 1-5.

2. Students will practice counting from 1 to 5 using one-to-one correspondence.

3. Students will practice counting down from 5 to 1.

4. Students will practice and learn to add and subtract simple math problems.

5. Students will learn that when you take one away from anything, the number changes by decreasing, and makes a difference.

Experience:
My experience for the past 20 years includes 15 years of experience as a preschool teacher, 5 years of experience as a licensed child care provider, and experience as a parent. During these years, I have had the pleasure of teaching children ages 12 months to 12 years old, various school subjects with hands-on lesson plan activities and projects. Subjects such as rhyming words, sight words, storytime, counting, making patterns, letter identification, letter sounds, social-emotional learning, and science experiments.
