Hi Families! We would like to extend you a warm welcome to our virtual school! For 5 years we have worked with Quantum Montessori™ families using our heart-centered learning program to assist in sparking a love of learning within your learner.

In this Early Childhood class, preschoolers and kindergartners will learn a variety of foundational skills in a fun and interactive environment. Through the Montessori method, they will develop practical life skills, such as self-care and household tasks, as well as academic skills, such as letter recognition, counting, and basic math concepts. They will also explore their creativity and social skills through art, music, and group activities. Our class will also focus on developing independence, problem-solving skills, and a love for learning.

We will be offering our Quantum Part Day program the upcoming year. This learner-directed class offers daily live guidance, bi-monthly check-ins, weekly STEAM projects, daily “social minutes” with their classmates, learner-led interest group, social-emotional learning resources, and literacy. This class includes the following key elements:

🧮 Montessori
🎨 STEM & Art
📝 Writers Lab
📚 Phonics to Reading
🤸‍♂️ Physical Fitness
🗣️ Social Meetups

🗓️ The learning schedule incorporates daily enrichments, brain breaks, and up to 20 minutes of social time.

Each day we will begin with a Welcome Meeting (Welcome, Weather, Date, News/Share, Dance)

General Information

In order to provide learners with a true understanding of what it's like to learn with us, and also to allow home educators to determine if we're the right fit for their family, we ask families to commit to one full quarter or 10 weeks of learning. We will continue to update and add new class dates and times as needed to accommodate year-round enrollment.

Montessori content repeats over the course of the school year building when the learner is ready. We do this by offering varied follow-up lessons to help learners master the topics before moving forward to the next. A supportive classroom environment such as this, helps learners enrolling mid-class adjust to the classroom routine and quickly adjust. Through individualized instruction and collaborative activities, we strive to create a smooth transition for new students to feel comfortable and thrive in our class.

🤔 FAQ

⓵ What is Montessori?

Montessori is an educational approach developed by Maria Montessori in the early 20th century. It is based on creating a learner-centered environment where youth can learn at their own pace and develop their unique interests and abilities. The Montessori teaching style emphasizes hands-on learning, multi-age classrooms, and respect for the learner's individuality and natural development.

⓶ Why Montessori + STEAM?

The integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) in Montessori education promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity helping learners develop important interpersonal skills such as empathy, self-awareness, and conflict resolution. The perfect combination to prepare them for success in both academic and social contexts.

⓷ Why should I enroll my learner in an inclusion-based program?

Enrolling your learner in an inclusion-based Montessori program offers numerous benefits for both the learner and their parent-educators. In this learning environment, learners of all abilities and backgrounds are welcomed and included, promoting a sense of diversity and acceptance. This not only fosters a love for learning, but also promotes self-confidence and independence in the learner. Additionally, you can rest assured that their learner receives an excellent education in an environment that values diversity and celebrates individuality.

⓸ How can Quantum Montessori offer learners an in-depth learning experience in only 2.5 hours each day?

With home-educator assistance, Quantum Montessori utilizes a specialized approach which allows learners to fully engage in group, 1:1, independent, project-based, and hands-on activities to optimize their learning potential in a short amount of time. Our spiral curriculum is designed to cover subjects and developmental areas in an efficient manner.

⓹ We are thinking about switching to homeschooling mid-year, can we sign up anytime?

Yes, we are flexible and our classes meet learners "where they are" so you an feel confident in your decision to switch learning environments.

⓺ What is taught in a traditional Montessori Early Childhood (EC) classroom?

The Montessori method in EC education focuses on the natural development and individualized learning of youth aged 2.5 to 6 years old. The following are some key elements that are typically taught in a Montessori classroom for this age group:

🌼 Independence and self-care skills: Youth are taught to take care of themselves and their surroundings, such as dressing themselves, preparing snacks, and cleaning up after themselves.
🌼 Practical life skills: This includes practical, everyday activities such as sweeping, pouring, sorting, and carrying objects. These activities help develop fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration.
🌼 Sensorial learning: Youth are encouraged to explore and engage their senses through activities that involve touch, sound, taste, sight, and smell. This helps them develop their sensory awareness and discrimination skills.
🌼 Language and literacy: Youth are introduced to language through storytelling, phonetic sounds, and activities like letter tracing and sandpaper letters. They learn to read and write using a multi-sensory approach.
🌼 Mathematics: Montessori classrooms use concrete materials, such as counting beads and number rods, to teach children mathematical concepts. They also learn to recognize and write numbers, and perform basic arithmetic operations.
🌼 Art and music: Art and music are integrated into the curriculum to encourage creativity and self-expression. Youth are given freedom to explore different mediums and techniques.
🌼 Social skills: In a Montessori classroom, learners learn social skills such as cooperation, conflict resolution, and empathy through group activities and lessons on grace and courtesy.
🌼 Outdoor activities: Nature-based activities and outdoor play are an important part of the Montessori curriculum. Youth learn about their environment, plant and animal life, and develop a sense of respect and appreciation for nature.

⓻ Can I request a class?

Contact us if a class time doesn't fit your schedule, you want to start your own class with friends/family, or if you have any questions.

⓼ I don't have any experience homeschooling, will I need to help my child with their work?

Our virtual program was created with both learners and their families in mind. Learners do not need to have previous Montessori experience and home-educators do not need to have any previous teaching experience for their learner to participate in our classes.
