It is very important in pre-k and kindergarten to start the day with a morning meeting. It is an invaluable practice that will set up the students for success in school. Morning Routine builds confidence and independence in young learners and can improve listening and following directions skills.
We begin our day with a greeting song that teaches life skills which builds a sense of community. Through the Math Their Program the students will learn the days of the week, months...1. Students will discuss and develop math skills needed for pre-k and kindergarten. 2. Students will understand the connection between the written word and oral language 3. Students will learn literacy skills needed for pre-k and kindergarten 4. Students will learn concepts of print and early reading skills.
I have taught morning routine in my classroom for over twenty five years. I received training in math their way, shared reading and writers workshop extensively. I have taught morning routine on zoom for the past three years.
