Students will follow along with a teacher-led demonstration as we practice drawing a face together. We will begin by sketching out guidelines for the size and placement of the facial features. I'll demonstrate the basics of drawing eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and hair while students follow along. We'll end class with a completed and proportionate human portrait! Students will practice drawing a face that is proportionate (all the right bits, of the right sizes, and in the right places!).
Face & figure drawing is my favorite art discipline! I have years of experience creating my own drawings and sculptures, using the human form as inspiration, and I always brought my enjoyment and expertise to my students when we created figurative artworks. I have taught figure drawing to elementary, junior high, and high school age students for over a decade, and look forward to meeting more young artists who want to learn this skill!
