PokÉMon Recreation: Reading Fictional Text for Fictional Text Badge

Students will learn to sound out and read pages from the Pokémon Legendary and Mythical Guidebook. After students read the text, they will be given questions to answer. Each question correct gains the learner an energy needed for a battle at the end. This class focuses solely on building reading comprehension skills along with a battle at the end. 

Topics: Answering questions related to the text. 
I will give the learner the option to read it themselves and if they need assistance, I will sound out the term for them. The learner's goal is to read the entire passage and answer the questions at the end. 

Teaching style: Teacher led instruction, and independent work. If more students are enrolled in the course, I can read it to both or have them read it on their own. 

This is a one-on-one course and can supplement 1 learner at a time. Expect learners to interact with the Pokémon Legendary and Mythical Guidebook Super Deluxe Edition and will have a chance to play a game at the end if we have time with Pokémon Cards. Learner can use either mine cards or their own. Cards are not required for the course just the ability to read above 3rd grade level. If the learner needs help with reading at that level they are still welcome to sign up and I will practice reading with them.
