Students will improve their understanding of elements of poetry and different forms of poetry while being given the chance to grow their creative writing abilities!
I have been a classroom ELA teacher for upper elementary students for 6 years and tutored learners in grades 1-6 in ELA. I have extensive knowledge of poetry and quality writing. I am a certified Texas teacher with a Master's degree in curriculum and instruction.

Each week, learners will write one form of poetry. Some of these are very quick (fewer rules and formatting to follow) and others will take more time. Learners are always welcome to write multiple of each forms of poetry!수업 외 주당 0 - 1 시간

-Ability to print poetry templates if you choose -10 letter-sized envelopes if you choose to create the Poetry Accordion. You do NOT need to have these by the first week. Learners can put this together at any point. They will be taught how during the first week. -Coloring supplies if learners choose to draw pictures to go along with their poems.

Writing poetry can sometimes be emotional if a child chooses a powerful or personal topic. All lessons and video recordings will be shared via Google Slides with embedded YouTube links. Additionally, students can choose to type their poems instead and can do that on Google Docs. You will need a Google account to access Google Docs, but not to view the shared Google Slides or YouTube links.
Students will be encouraged to use dictionary.com and thesaurus.com as they focus on word choice.
