Each class we will begin with greetings. We will then sing our alphabet song, do a letter sound chant, and I will introduce our letter of the day. Students can then show or tell something that they have that begins with the letter of the week. We will practice making the letter on our paper or on a whiteboard or even up in the air. We will then read the weekly poem written by the teacher together, find the letter of the week in the poem, practice with word building or a phonemic awareness...
Students will learn how to sing their alphabet song, write and identify the letter of the week, and associate the letter with it's letter sound through a poem and interactive craft.

Each craft will have specific items listed with the weekly packet posted each Sunday evening. Supplies generally used are colored construction paper, crayons, washable tempera or watercolor paint, paper, pencil, highlighter, and eraser.
