This class will use formulas to find the perimeters and areas of squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles. Each of these concepts will have real world examples, as well. I teach with a slide presentation to model the concepts, practice together with the learners, and provide several independent practice problems. Students will be able to use the formulas for finding the area of squares, rectangles, and triangles. Using these formulas, students will also find the surface areas of rectangular and triangular prisms.Students will understand the difference between area and circumference of a circle and be able to compute both measurements.
