During this 2 week class, students will learn how to create an effective summary using an engaging multi-part text about the Paris Catacombs. Summarizing is a critical reading skill. Knowing strategies to help make that process easier builds confidence! Inspired by a popular social media platform, #summaries provide a “snapshot” of key ideas from the text. I have been teaching middle school Reading and Language Arts for more than 18 years. I specialize in reading skills/strategies, teaching writing, and working with students at their own individual levels. I have worked almost exclusively with reluctant readers and writers!
Pencil and paper are required for this course. Students will add to the same sheet(s) of paper each week as the lesson builds.
