In this one time class we will talk briefly about Hokusai as an artist, we will discuss his Wave print and then students will create their own masterpiece using crayon, watercolor, and some acrylic. We will talk about color, composition, creativity, and also the proper use of materials and clean up. The students will be able to create their piece based on his print, but in their own style and with their own personality and creativity. The class will be step by step allowing time for each...
Each learner will need: - A watercolor set - A brush (any size will do) - A cup with water to clean the brush - Set of crayons (or oil pastels) - Heavy white or off white paper (watercolor paper is preferred but not completely necessary) - Table protection (newspaper, butcher paper etc). - A smock or old t shirt to protect clothing from the paint
Parents are encouraged to be close by during the class to help their learner with the painting process to minimize spills (especially with electronics close by!) and to make sure their paints stay on the paper.
