Do you struggle with social anxiety? Whether it's meeting new people, making friends, giving a presentation or just not knowing what to say, social anxiety can be very debilitating. Social anxiety is most prominent in teenage years. As someone who has dealt with social anxiety throughout my life; I am here to tell you that it CAN get better. In this class, I will provide you with the tools you need to overcome social anxiety. This class will include the following: - Social Anxiety - What is it? Where does it come from? Why do we have it? - We will explore 3 tools you can use to overcome social anxiety 1) Mindfulness - We will learn how to be present and practice mindful breathing 2) Challenging Negative Thoughts - We will learn how to recognize and challenge our negative thoughts through written activities 3) Creating Goals - We will learn how to create goals to overcome our social fears. - Lastly, there will be time for questions I will teach this class using discussion and PowerPoint format. Students should print out worksheets posted in the classroom and bring a paper and a pencil.
