In our class, we will be learning digraphs sh and th and reviewing letter sounds. We will use a multisensory method based on Orton Gillingham. Each day we will complete a Three Part Drill to review letter sounds and read CVC words. There will be a different digraph introduced on Monday and Wednesday. Each will be introduced with a multisensory activity or craft and I will guide students in writing and reading words with the focus digraph.

By the end of this course, students will be able to know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. They will know the spelling-sound correspondences for common consonant digraphs (two letters that represent one sound).

We will start each day by checking in with our feelings.
Today we will complete a Three Part Drill: Visual- say letter sound when I hold up the card. Auditory- write letter in sand tray that matches the sound I say. Blending- read CVC words on blending board

This course is intentionally designed to support learners who struggle with beginning reading (Kindergarten to 1st grade level). We will use a structured approach to phonics with attention to multisensory techniques for learning.
학부모 가이드
We will be using scissors to cut a paper tube on Monday of the class. If you don't feel comfortable letting your child use scissors for this they may need your assistance during this part of the class.
