수업 소개
Students will be taken down an American timeline that begins at the Revolutionary War and ends in current day events. We will use PowerPoint presentation, a KWL approach in each class, and discussion throughout. The class will be in a format where students can come and go from week to week. Although we will progress down a timeline, each class will be its own stand alone history class. We will cover the following topics beginning from week one (Recently updated for 2021 Fall/2022 Spring Class): 1700's Aug 9: 1770-1779 - The American Revolution Aug 16: 1780-1789 - The Beginning of a Democracy Aug 23: 1790-1799 - America's Formation 1800's Aug 30: 1800-1809 - America Grows Sep 6: 1810-1819 - The War of 1812 Sep 13: 1820-1829 - The Era of Good Feelings and the Industrial Age Sep 20: 1830-1839 - The Age of Jackson Sep 27: 1840-1849 - The Mexican War Oct 4: 1850-1859 - American Expansion Oct 11: 1860-1869 - The Civil War Oct 18: 1870-1879 - After the War Oct 25: 1880-1889 - American Inventions Nov 1: 1890-1899 - Immigration 1900's Nov 8: 1900-1909 - The Turn of the Century Nov 15: 1910-1919 - World War I Nov 22: 1920-1929 - The Roaring Twenties Nov 29: 1930-1939 - The Great Depression Dec 6: 1940-1949 - World War II Dec 13: 1950-1959 - The Boom Era Dec 20: 1960-1969 - Civil Rights Jan 3: 1970-1979 - The "Me" Decade Jan 10: 1980-1989 - The Reagan Revolution Jan 17: 1990-1999 - American Prosperity 2000's Jan 24: 2000-2009 - The Fight against Terrorism Jan 31: 2010-Present - In Recent Days I like a supportive atmosphere where students can share their thoughts with excitement and enthusiasm. There will be quite of bit of direct instruction with an emphasis on class discussion throughout. I'm so excited to see you in class!

Due to it being a history class, there are some class that contain some politically sensitive topics (i.e. slavery, civil rights, wars between countries, political parties, etc.) I expect all students to be treated with respect, and will monitor class discussions on these topics very carefully.
