Students will begin with vocal warm-ups. During the warm-ups, I will instruct them on how to use proper technique and I will assess their range. Next, we will work on a song in the style they choose. I will help them work on a specific song that they choose and can help guide them toward a choice that fits their voice type and range. I have taught music in public schools, private studios, and music academy for 20 years.
Students will need to have a copy of the music they want to work on (not just a lyrics sheet) and an accompaniment recording. I recommend finding this on www.musicnotes.com because you can get a digital copy of the music as well as the accompaniment track when you use their free app. Students will also need paper and a pencil for theory. I may also ask them to use noteflight.
