In this ongoing class, each week we will learn a new phonics rule each week. These are skills typically taught in first grade. On day one, we will practice making the sounds in isolation, blending with them into words, complete a word sort, and then play a game with our new words. Students will sort words by different sounds and/or spellings. Students will play a game to practice reading the new words. Students will participate in reading a decodable reader using new sounds.

Students will be given weekly materials then can print and use at home for additional practice with these words. While you are actively enrolled in this class you will be given exclusive access to my class on RAZkids for additional reading practice.
