This course is perfect for homeschool families looking to supplement their social studies, history, language, or social classes. 

I have personally been to over 30 countries, many of them during solo-travels, and each week I will share a favourite spot with students. They are also encouraged to bring stories of their travels (local or afar!) to share with fellow students. I will act as a moderator for our discussions, bringing slideshows of pictures, videos, and discussions about the local communities around the world. Students will be encouraged to participate, ask questions of one another, and engage in thoughtful conversation. 

Even if students have not travelled themselves, cultivating a travel bug and an interest in exploring the world around them is a fire that cannot be extinguished. 

You will learn practical skills like: 
+ how to read a map
+ exchanging money 
+ traveling within a foreign country 
+ preparedness & safety whilst traveling 

We will discuss:
+ local cuisine + cooking styles
+ architecture 
+ culture & history 
+ tourism, currency
+ language 
+ traveling to/from the destination

Students are welcome to come and go, as classes are non-cumulative. Session topics will be learner-directed or dictated weekly due to current events/happening/requested countries or topics. 


Each week will discuss a location around the world and cover topics based on the interest of the students!

Week 1, August 30: introduction to travel: airports/trains/buses, making connections, planning a trip, changing time zones, and more 

Week 2, September 7: the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 🇬🇧 England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 

Week 3, September 14: the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 🇬🇧 Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 

Week 4, September 21: Paris, France 🇫🇷 

Week 5, September 27: Palace of Versailles, France 🇫🇷 

Week 6, October 6: Zurich, Switzerland 🇨🇭 

Week 7, October 13: Berlin, Germany 🇩🇪 

Week 8, October 20: Munich, Germany 🇩🇪 

Many of my homeschool classes feature students from all over the world - countries such as Namibia, Philippines, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, and more - and so this class is an excellent opportunity for students to make friends all around the world and learn from one another.
