The aim for this one time class is to awaken a sense of excitement, joy and discovery of the natural world. This is a sample class of an ongoing Nature Study Class/Group. At the beginning of the lesson the students will share what they have observed around their home and community. Animals, plants, weather. They can also share animals, plants etc. that they are passionate about. We will observe photos and videos of a Barn Owl and Great Horned Owl. I will offer additional information...
Students will develop the foundational science skills of observation, questioning and recording. Students will develop the skill of research as they look for information about their natural observations. Students will also develop artistic skills as they draw what they see in nature.
I have been a Charlotte Mason homeschool teacher for many years. It is our preferred method of learning. It is meant to inspire and give learners skills, tools and a desire to know more about the world around them. Charlotte Mason teachers "spread the feast" and allow students to take what nourishes them.

You can also contact your local raptor center or zoo and ask if they can provide you with and owl pellet.
