수업 소개

Students can be new to sports and exercise. My class has a combined approach to learning: performing exercises combined with classroom learning (slides) about the 6 cornerstones of Strength & Athleticism (Strength, Endurance, Balance, Flexibility, Rest, & Healthy Food Choices). In future, I'll hold Ongoing classes featuring new exercises and new facts on each cornerstone component each week. Students will receive detailed instruction on how to perform each exercise and my feedback as they complete a set of that exercise. There will be a specific Q&A segment at the end of class but I will encourage quick questions throughout.  I will combine a style of youth fitness coach with quick slides & lectures on the Rest & Healthy Food Choices components so that your student will receive a well-rounded foundation of knowledge that will serve them well for any school sport.

Students will know how all 6 cornerstones of Strength & Athleticism work together to create a healthier YOU. I will demonstrate and have them join in on several large muscle-group exercises. These exercises will be done slowly and deliberately and I will discuss proper/safe form. After these exercises, I will present a one fact each on the importance of adequate rest for recovery of the body and proper nutrition for refueling. At the end, there will be a short Q & A session.

Students will be executing exercise movements. They will need the following: enough safe space to conduct exercise (Nothing breakable or trip hazards in the area); carpeted floor or yoga mat; close-toed shoes/athletic footwear; comfortable/proper exercise attire; and a hand towel for sweat. Although these exercises are safe and instructed deliberately, with proper form, I advise parents to be observing or close by in case of a trip or muscle cramp. Ensure your student has drinking water close-by. I will be encouraging them to drink throughout class. Warm up movement will be instructed at the beginning of class.

Students will need:  Closed-toed/athletic footwear; enough room to complete exercises; a padded (yoga mat) floor or rug; two full water bottles that they can hold and that won't shatter if dropped, comfortable gym attire; a cup or bottle of water for drinking.; a hand towel if they get sweaty.

I earned my Personal Trainer & Orthopedic Exercise Specialist certifications through The American Council on Exercise in 2006. I have been a primary school P.E.instructor since 2010 and a personal trainer & group fitness instructor since 2007. I have trained hundreds of students/clients ranging 6y - 92y.
