Learners will read five books in five weeks! I have chosen books that are high interest for this age group. We will discuss one of the assigned books weekly. I will ask basic comprehension and thought-provoking, open-ended questions that will facilitate a deeper understanding and appreciation of each book. Deaths occur in these books. The deaths are important to the themes of the books. One of the men in Lost in the Pacific, 1942 dies, the pilot in The Raft dies after being hurt in the crash, and Luke's friend in Among the Hidden dies.
