In this 4-day class we will learn so many new things about the ocean! Each day we will dive a little bit deeper into the ocean! Day 1: Zones of the Ocean-On our first day we will talk about the different zones of the ocean-the sunlight zone, the twilight zone, and the midnight zone. We will learn what types of animals live in each zone and what their habitat is like. Do plants grow in the ocean? How deep is the ocean? Day 2: Coral Reefs- During our second day we will talk about beautiful...
Students will leave each class with new ocean facts to remember and share. Students will learn the 3 zones of the ocean, what animals live in each, and what their habitat is like. Students will learn what makes up a coral reef, what lives in them, and some problems coral reefs are facing today. Students will learn about the causes of shipwrecks, how fish use them as a habitat and protection, and what they look like today. Students will learn about different deep-sea creatures and how they have adapted to living in a place with no light.
On our last day about deep-sea creatures: Some of the animals are a bit creepy looking, with large teeth. The anglerfish is the most potentially upsetting image learners will see in class because it has an odd looking body and large teeth. Most are fine, like the squid and jellyfish.
