Not only will students learn/review important reading skills, but they will reflect on their own lives and the important life lessons this incredible book highlights such as accepting differences and standing up for yourself.

👩‍🎓I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a minor in English. I've been teaching for 29 years. I've taught reading for all of those years. I've taught 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades in the public school and am currently a reading interventionist at a middle school. I'm passionate about teaching, energetic, and was our school's 2018 Teacher of the Year. I love teaching students around the globe and feel truly blessed to have found Outschool.

No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
1. Chapter Reading - 4 chapters a week 
2. Study vocabulary & complete assessment
3. Reading Reflection/Comprehension Questions & Activity -Posting and Responding to posts on discussion threads in the classroom.

Students need to complete each week's assignments by Thursday at 5:00 pm CST.

2. A printer to print the reading activities. Students may post these or share in video format with me (privately) or with the class.
3. Kahoot (https://kahoot.com/) ** This requires parental permission. Your child shouldn't have to create an account, however. They may want to download the app for easy access to input the code, but this isn't mandatory.
4.  Nearpod: No account necessary
5. Quizlet and Google Form links will also be posted in the classroom. These will be used to study vocabulary and assess how well learners know it.
