Poe의 "The Raven"에 대한 끊임없는 열광

When a student enrolls for the course, I will share with them a Youtube playlist I've created by exploring dozens of video resources for quality interpretations and video analyses of Poe's "The Raven" that are appropriate for young people. It is a 40 minute playlist  of six videos. that is entirely optional for participation in the class. Students who are interested in the topic may enjoy preparing for the discussion. The first video is a slightly edited cartoon version that makes the plot very clear and understandable for young people while retaining 75% of the original language. The second is enacted by a man portraying the narrator while performing the action dramatically on a set with props. Two are only audio interpretations, one by a male and one by a female. The analysis is a great balance of thorough and succinct. It offers great insights into the work. The final version is from a modern staged musical inspired by the poem. 

Additionally, I will send a crossword puzzle that I have created with 44 prompts for challenging words included in the poem. I will also send a pdf of the original text with the 44 words highlighted to help students match them to their definitions. This too is entirely optional.

During the one hour course, I will be prepared to explore plot, theme, personification, metaphor, allusion, simile, imagery, alliteration, assonance, consonance, structure, rhyme scheme, and repetition. We will spend time on the topics the students are interested in. We will discuss the students favorite passages, offering them opportunities to read them aloud and encouraging them to explore various ways to dramatize the piece with vocal changes for different effects. 

If students wish to, they can then film themselves interpreting the piece of portions of it to share just in time for Halloween.
