- Students will play the 10 folk songs and nursery rhymes learned throughout the course.
- Students will memorize the notes corresponding to the keys on the piano, demonstrating knowledge of note names and their positions on the staff.
- Students will comprehend the basics of music notation, including rhythms, time signatures, and note durations.
- Students will grasp the concept of hand positioning and posture while sitting at the piano, understanding the importance of proper technique for playing comfortably and efficiently.
- Students will demonstrate their ability to translate musical notation into piano performance by playing assigned songs with accuracy and expression.
- Students will apply their knowledge of finger placement and hand coordination to play simple melodies and chords with both hands simultaneously.
- Students will begin to experiment with musical expression by adding their own interpretations and dynamics to the songs they learn, showcasing their creativity and individuality in their piano playing.

Ms. Emily has been teaching piano and voice lessons to young kids since 2009. She has a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a Master's degree in Educational Technology. She wrote the book My First Piano Lessons, the best-selling children's piano book, published by Penguin Random House. She has her own piano and voice studio, EBN Music, in Rockwall, TX. She teaches both in-person and online private lessons to students of all ages.
