Prerequisites: Learners should already know how to read music and play an instrument or sing before enrolling in this class. This is not a Performance class, but learners need a practical knowledge of music to be able to apply this skill. Students will practice drawing a circle of fifths and use it to analyze pieces of music.
I have a Bachelor of Music degree in classical piano performance. I also have Master's degrees in music history and music theory, as well as doctoral certification in historical music theory and piano performance. I have taught music from PK-12 and my experience has helped me to create classes that help learners get excited about classical music. I have a passion for presenting classical music in ways that get learners engaged in what they are listening to.
